Displacement
Distance– The length of the path covered by a moving object in a given time is called the distance traveled by that object.
Distance = Speed × Time
Displacement– The difference between the final and initial positions of an object is called its displacement.
Speed – The distance traveled by an object in unit time is called the speed of the object.
Speed = Distance × Time
In the S.I. system, the unit of speed is meter per second (m/s).
Velocity – The displacement of an object in unit time is called its velocity.
Velocity = Displacement / Time Interval
In the S.I. system, the unit of velocity is meter per second.
Acceleration – The rate of change of velocity of an object is called acceleration.
Acceleration = Change in Velocity / Time Interval
