UP Board Exam LATEST NEWS
UP Board latest news, UP Board examination
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has made a major and important change in the examination system of High School (class 10th) and Intermediate (class 12th) by changing the format of the answer sheets. From the 2026 board examinations, students will now be given answer sheets with two cover pages. This arrangement is being implemented for the first time, with the claim that the evaluation (marking) process will become more transparent, organized, and error-free.
UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, while giving information about this change, said that until now answer sheets had only one cover page, on which candidates wrote their name, roll number, etc. On the same page, the examiner used to write marks during evaluation, which often created situations of confusion and lack of confidentiality.

**How will the new system work?
Under the system, answer sheets will have two separate cover pages. The first cover page will be for candidates, on which students will fill in their details. Immediately after that, the second cover page will be reserved entirely for the examiner, on which they will record the marking information for each question. On this second cover page, it will be clearly written how many marks each question received along with the page number where the answer is written. This will maintain transparency during evaluation and make the checking of answer sheets more organized.

**Change in the size of the copies
This time not only the cover page but also the size of the answer sheets has been changed. Until now, the answer sheets were in a normal horizontal format, but this time they will be prepared in vertical format. The board says that the vertical size will provide more convenience in both writing and evaluation. Candidates will get more organized space to write answers, while examiners will find it easier to read answers during checking.
---
**Why is the layout of the copies being changed?
Until now, UP Board copies were made in width format. This format had been in use for more than 106 years, but this time the board has completely reversed it. In 2026, candidates will receive lengthwise copies. This will give students more space while writing, and their writing will appear neat and organized according to the page.
U.P. Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh says that the biggest advantage of changing the layout will be that the exchange of copies will now be almost impossible. This is a big setback for cheating mafias, because with the new layout the identity of the copy will change and any kind of manipulation will be caught.

**Special color coding in copies
① 12th A Copy:
24 pages, with information printed in magenta color on the first page.
② 12th B Copy:
12 pages, with information printed in dark green color on the first page.
③ 10th A Copy:
18 pages, with information printed in brown color on the first page.
④ 10th B Copy:
12 pages, with information printed in light green color on the first page.

**Exams will begin from February 18
UP Board’s High School and Intermediate examinations will begin this year from February 18 and will continue till March 12. This time, to conduct the examinations in a timely and disciplined manner, the board has started preparations at many levels. According to the board, a total of 52,30,297 candidates are registered this year.
---
**Number of registered students
This time the number of registered students in High School and Intermediate is as follows:
- High School (10th): 27,50,495 students
- Intermediate (12th): 24,79,352 students
---
**What will change for students?
This new arrangement is expected to directly benefit students. Now their name and roll number information will not be directly alongside the marks during evaluation, which will maintain confidentiality. Also, if in the future there is any objection related to marks, the second cover page will clearly show how many marks were given for each question. This will strengthen the trust of students and parents in the examination system.
---
**“Evaluation will be more transparent”
The UP Board believes that the two-cover-page system will also curb mistakes in evaluation. Earlier, many times having details and marks on the same page confused examiners, but now everything will be recorded separately and clearly. Along with this, the vertical design of the answer sheets will also help make the evaluation process easier.
